Let’s face it: Garbage bags aren’t the most exciting purchase on your shopping list. Plus, many consumers assume the cheap, store-brand bags are “good enough.”

 

So how could GLAD convince shoppers to spend more for a product they’re just going to throw away? We knew the answer was in breaking category norms by demonstrating the product in an unconventional way.

 

By giving people a reason to laugh about garbage, we grabbed attention and created an emotional connection to a product that people are otherwise inclined to keep out of sight, smell and mind.
