Swati Bhattacharya Joins FCB Ulka as Chief Creative Officer

New York, February 2, 2016 – Susan Credle, global chief creative officer of FCB, announced today that Swati Bhattacharya has been named chief creative officer for FCB Ulka, the global agency’s Indian operations.

Bhattacharya began her career as a copy trainee at JWT and spent 22 years with the agency. In 2011, she was appointed national creative director, working on clients such as Close-up, Airtel, Kit Kat, 7Up, Pepsi, Pizza Hut, UNICEF, Sunrise and Slice. Prior to joining FCB, Bhattacharya served as principal partner of the Dentus Mama Lab.

“Swati is a humanist who always finds that magical connection between human and brand truths,” stated Rohit Ohri, chairman and CEO of FCB Ulka Group. “This is an exciting new chapter in the history of our agency in India and I’m glad that Swati will be partnering me and the leadership team at FCB Ulka in writing it.”

In addition to her work in advertising, Bhattacharya won India’s highest award in cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, in 2014 for best screenplay. Her short film “Double Shift” was featured in the Toronto, Vancouver, Kolkata and Mumbai International short film festivals and went on to win in the best short film, best soundtrack and best cinematography categories.
