Crazy Racer Viral Video Named Best Digital Campaign
The Standard (Der Standard), largest-circulation daily newspaper in Austria, honors Zurich Insurance’s online film.
The film “Crazy Racer,” created by FCB Zurich for Zurich Insurance Austria, features a young boy on his high-performance Bobby Car, racing through his home in perfect gymkhana (motorsport) style and mastering all kinds of dangerous maneuvers as his mom calmly looks on. This film is part of a comprehensive promotional campaign for Zurich Insurance.
The viral video previously won first place in a readers’ poll last November, when it had been on-air for only two weeks prior. Voting to determine the Best Digital Campaign of the year took place a few weeks later. The viral film was by far the top contender: with 34% of the total votes, it beat other campaigns from T-Mobile, BMW and Nikon by a sizable margin.
The ad campaign’s success story continues, having generated a record-breaking 50,000 “likes” in just 24 hours on the international advertising archive Ads of the World.
